Alex Wilhite Qualifies for State
Congratulations to Alex Wilhite who qualified this past weekend for the OSSAA Cross Country Championship. There are two ways to qualify: either be on a team that finishes in the top seven or finish as one of the top seven individuals not on a state qualifying team. Alex was the number 5 finisher not on a state qualifying team by running a 14:10 2-mile into a 40 mile wind. The championship will be held at Edmond Santa Fe High School, Saturday, October 29th at 1 pm.
“I am extremely proud of Alex,” says HC Shannon Hilburn. “The wind was howling, dust was getting blown into everybody's faces, and Alex still ran within 5 seconds of her best time of the year.” Alex will not only represent Bristow at the State Championship but will also try to do what only two other girls (Georgia Donaldson and Krystal Billings) have ever done and that is become an All-Stater in CC. Good luck to Alex!
