Bristow, May 15, 2024: Bristow Public Schools (BPS) celebrated the unwavering commitment and dedication of its staff members during an end-of-year breakfast event held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. In an era where recruiting educators and support staff is increasingly challenging, the occasion served as a reminder of the invaluable contributions made by those who have dedicated their careers to the district's mission of education.
Among the esteemed honorees was Oma Kay Murray, a beloved figure within the BPS community, who was recognized for an astounding 50 years of service to the district. Murray, currently serving as the Speech Language Pathologist, exemplifies the essence of dedication and passion in her work, serving as an inspiration to both colleagues and students alike.
Brenda Fechner and Brian Lomenick were lauded for their remarkable 30 years of service, while Tina Brewer, Michelle Henderson, John Todd, Shelley Plum, Shelly Lyons, and Lisa Fisher were honored for their quarter-century commitment to the district.
Additionally, Kendra Chuculate and Tara Mattox were celebrated for 20 years of service, while Beth Conn and Ashley Linker were recognized for 15 years of dedicated contribution to BPS.
Jake Avery, Rachel Veit, Tammy Winn, Victoria Mueller, Deana Pahsetopah, and Tracy Wilson marked a decade of service, while Sheena Capps, Matthew Cook, Christian Davis, Robin Little, Kyla Zapata, Kacy Baker, Bobby Lyons, Michael O'Connor, and Nita Tallent received accolades for their five years of service.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity to honor three esteemed members of the BPS family who will be embarking on well-deserved retirements: Kristi Ernst, Edison's Media Specialist; Robin Little, Edison Principal; and Mike Hallman, Transportation Director.
