Welcome BMS Students and Parents,
We have completed the 1st quarter and appreciate all the parents who showed up at Parent-Teacher Conferences prior to Fall Break. First Quarter grades were handed out at P-T Conferences or to students upon returning from Fall Break.
We had a great week back from with Red Ribbon Week October 23-26. We appreciate Mr. John Varner and Mr. Rich Jensen with Be a Champion for Life who gave encouraging words for students and staff during our morning assembly. I appreciate Mrs. Busch and the Student Council who did a great job with our 2nd Halloween Dance on Thursday, October 26th. Both the assembly and the dance and all the Red Ribbon Week activities went very well.
We had a very good Fall season with sports and look forward to winter events kicking off soon. Basketball teams begin play at Kellyville on Monday, November 6th and Wrestlers begin on Friday, December 1st at the Cushing Tournament. All schedules can be found online at bristow.k12.ok.us.
We appreciate you working collaboratively with your student, his/her teachers, and all staff to ensure that your student is successful academically and behaviorally here at Bristow Middle School. Our goals for our students continue to be the A,B, C's. Attendance is the 1st priority in helping your child be successful here at school and later in life. School begins at 8 am and students are expected to be on time with materials to all classes in which they attend. Behavior in the classroom, hallways, athletic events, and on campus is also a one of our goals. We follow the 6 Pillars of Character- Trustworthy, Respectful, Responsible, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, and expect all students to adhere to these Pillars of Character in and out of the classroom. Our third goal is Course Performance, teachers have worked very hard to ensure that all students are improving in all classes and monitor their progress continually to provide either enrichment or intervention for each individual student. If you have any questions about how your student is progressing in a particular class, I encourage you to contact his/her teacher and discuss their performance.
We encourage parents to stay in contact with us by signing up for the BMS remind by texting @bristow16 to 81010. You will receive weekly texts about upcoming events and things going on in and around Bristow Middle School. You can also access your child's grades anytime through STI. Directions for logging on can be found on the district website at bristow.k12.ok.us. You can also contact us here at the MS for assistance with username or password.
